Recreation & Leisure
Wolcott seeks to enhance our community by offering multiple recreational and leisure activities that foster physical, social and emotional wellness. Perhaps you would enjoy fishing, kayaking or sailing around Woodtick Reservoir or Chestnut Hill Reservoir. Maybe an afternoon with the kids on the playgrounds at Peterson Park or swimming at the Woodtick Recreation area. If hiking is your passion, try the scenic 3.5-mile Mill Pond Way or jump onto Connecticut’s Mattatuck Trail. Of course, you can’t forget about your furry friends, so some time at our well-maintained Dog Park might be in order. For the golfers in our community, the picturesque Farmingbury Hills Golf Course is sure to please.
Wolcott’s Recreation Department organizes programs all year round for children, adults, seniors, families and the community. We have a free summer concert series held on the Town Green, sports programs and community events such as the Memorial Day Parade and Santa’s Fire Truck Parade.
