Exchange Club of Wolcott

For the past 100 years, the volunteer efforts of Exchange Club members have supported the needs of the country and of local communities. With 700 clubs and over 21,000 members throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, Exchange is the country’s oldest service organization operating exclusively in the United States.

The Exchange Club of Wolcott, CT obtained its charter in 1946, and sponsors activities designed to benefit, award and develop our town’s youth, promote crime prevention, serve senior citizens and recognize military and public safety service providers. Exchange also promotes Americanism programs, and its national project is the prevention of child abuse.

Farmingbury Woman’s Club of Wolcott, GFWC

Farmingbury Woman’s Club of Wolcott, a member of General Federation of Women’s Clubs International, provides the Annual Bowling Banquet for the Handicapped Bowling League, scholarships, assists with the Fire Marshal Fire Prevention Poster Contest, and maintains flower barrels on Woodtick Road.  Farmingbury Woman’s Club celebrates October as Breast Cancer Awareness with a lighted pink tree in the gazebo on the Town Green and hand-made “comfort pillows” for cancer patients in area hospitals.

Farmingbury Woman’s Club donates generously including several items on the Town Green (gazebo, lamp post and park bench) and installation of traffic light safety switches on fire engines.

Junior Women’s Club of Wolcott

The Junior Women’s Club of Wolcott, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to volunteer community service promoting the Arts, Conservation, Current Affairs, Education, Health and Homelife.  Opportunities for friendships, personal growth and leadership abound.

Meetings are held the at 6:30PM on the first Wednesday from September to June at St. Maria Goretti Church Hall, 1300 Woodtick Road. Females 18+ may apply for membership – P.O. Box 6116, Wolcott.  Girls 11-18 may join our Juniorette Club.

Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic family fraternal service organization with 1.7 million members. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people.

Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practicing Catholic men in union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years old. Wolcott Lions Club

The Wolcott Lions Club belongs to Lions International, the largest service organization in the world. With over 80 members locally, we help support our community in a variety of ways including scholarships for five college-bound students, sponsorship of five annual blood drives, provide food baskets during the holidays to those in need and offer families and organizations financial support as needed.

The Wolcott Lions raise money through the annual Wolcott Country Fair, Pancake Breakfast, and by hosting ziti dinners in times of need. The Wolcott Lions work hard to live up to our motto, “We Serve!”.
