Board of Assessment Appeals - Application

Board of Assessment Appeals hearing applications for the October 1, 2012 Grand List Real Estate, Personal Property and Motor Vehicle assessments or 2011 Supplemental Grand List Motor Vehicle assessment will be available in the Assessor’s office from Friday, February 1st through Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 4:30 pm.

To be scheduled for a hearing, the original written application for appeal of Real Estate, Personal Property and Motor Vehicle assessments of the October 1, 2012 Grand List and the 2011 Supplemental Motor Vehicle Grand List must be filed in the Assessors Office no later than 4:30 pm, Wednesday, February 20, 2013 or post marked by the United States Postal Service or date recorded or marked by a delivery service designated by the United States Secretary of Treasury pursuant to Section 7502 of the Internal Revenue Code no later than February 20, 2013, if the Grand List is filed in January 2013 and no later than 4:30 p.m. March 20, 2013 if the Grand List is filed in February 2013. 

Please follow the application instructions carefully and be sure to include your estimate of full value of the property. Any photos or other evidence you bring to your hearing will become the property of the Board of Assessment Appeals. We encourage you to keep copies of any information you supply. Photocopies of your information will not be made at the time of your hearing. If you bring a Real Estate property appraisal, the appraisal value must be the value as of 10-01-2011 and must be a full appraisal certified to the Board of Assessment Appeals.
