Purpose: To instruct girls in the fundamentals of Fast Pitch Softball
Ages: 5-18 can play in the Softball Association. 19 and up can play in the Woman’s League. We are proud to say females ages 5 and up can currently play softball in the town of Wolcott.
Facilities: Most games are currently played at the Wakelee School Fields. The Wolcott High School field is used as a secondary location. Wakelee Fields have a snack bar facility (with bathrooms) for the convenience of our fans.
Season: The current season runs from early April (weather permitting) through the summer. Travel teams are formed near season end to participate in local Tournaments. In 2001 the league formed it first fall ball schedule to allow girls to play into the month of October.
Affiliation: We are members of PONY League Softball. All PONY League rules of safety and play are followed. Coaches and Umpires are sent to clinics to learn the proper most effective way to coach our girls. Our #1 priority is to provide the girls with a positive introduction to the game of softball.
Meetings: Although our season is mostly spring/summer and now the fall. Meetings are held year round to plan/improve the league operations. Meetings are generally held on the first Wednesday of the month at the Senior Center at 7:00pm and all parents are encouraged to attend and get involved. Specific dates and places will be posted to the Event Calendar monthly.
