COVENANT TO CARE FOR CHILDREN - STATE PROJECT

Covenant to Care for Children is the new State Project for the Junior Women’s Club of Wolcott for the next four years, 2008-2012. This organization is a non-profit, private agency working with faith communities to meet the needs of abused, neglected and impoverished children and teens.
During the first year of this project, our Club has donated back to school backpacks, Christmas stockings and Christmas gifts, new and used household items, Easter baskets, used furniture including cribs and beds to needy children and families in the Waterbury, Wolcott area. This year we are hoping to involve the
Wolcott Community in helping us with donations.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Thanks to the cooperation of Mr. Robert Walsh and Mr. Mark Walsh we are placing two collection boxes at Walsh’s Market on Meriden Road. One box will be collecting items to be used for Birthday Celebrations. As unbelievable as it may seem, many of these children have never celebrated their birthday with a family party. Items that may be donated are CAKE AND BROWNIE MIXES, CUP CAKE PAPERS, FOIL PANS FOR BAKING CAKES AND CUPCAKES, CANS OF FROSTING,
CANDLES, CANS OF JUICE, PAPER PLATES, CUPS AND TABLE CLOTH, FAVORS, GIFT CARD FOR PERISHABLE ITEMS SUCH AS ICE CREAM OR EGGS and anything else you might think of. The second box will be used to collect household cleaning supplies. These families weekly income takes care of their food, rent and clothing and cleaning supplies
may take a back seat in their spending. Items that may be donated are BLEACH, BATHROOM CLEANERS, GLASS CLEANERS, PAPER TOWELS, SPONGES, DETERGENT and anything else you might think of.

YOUR DONATIONS WILL MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF THESE FAMILIES AND WE THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.
